Design for Chinoiseries II was originally created in the mid-18th century, by Jean Pillement, for the Haroue castle in Lorraine (eastern France) as part of a set called the Salons Chinois. This jacquard woven French impressionist wall tapestry décor evokes a Japanese flowered garden framed within an orange border and sky blue backdrop, small human Fae figures playfully float in the air with butterflies and birds as the others stand within the pavilion. This brilliantly coloured piece is perfect to add to your interior design motif.
